Gathering transport history for future generations

The MNY TRANSPORT ARCHIVE was formed around 1988 when an alliance was formed between several private collectors of all artifacts, photographs, and documentation relating to transport in the U.K. The aim being to gather together valuable information, to prevent its loss, and hopefully pass it on in various ways to future generations. This could be via Exhibitions, Slide shows, and inclusion in written works. Also it would help preservation groups and museums in their studies.

Various persons within the alliance would specialise in particular areas, but would be aided by other members to expand their resources and so build up a valuable archive of many transport subjects.

Unfortunately, several members have now passed away or dropped out of the alliance and has left MALCOLM KIRK to continue the work. He has continued gathering material and photographing unusual & important items wherever possible. Other subjects too have been photographed and have the MNY TRANSPORT ARCHIVE copyright. These include Weddings, Female models, Buildings, Landscapes etc etc. Over the years the archive has built up its store of Books, Videos, Fleet lists, Spotters journals, Historic documents etc, concentrating largely upon South Wales. Many items too like photographs have been bought in along with their copyrights. It is hoped that any material that is likely to be lost, could find a safe home here. malcolmkirk@sky.com
